Assassin’s Creed Rogue Errors, Crashes, Performance, FPS and Fixes
While Assassin’s Creed Unity saw a disappointing launch, Assassin’s Creed Rogue on last generation of consoles didn’t do that bad. However, unlike Unity, we had to wait a little longer for Assassin’s Creed Rogue to come out on PC.
Now that the game is available on PC, I am sure that the franchise fans won’t be wasting any time to get their hands on it.
Well, the good news is that the game is relatively stable considering the history of Ubisoft when it comes to PC Games. If you are still facing an issue or haven’t been able to start the game, you can refer to the following troubleshooting guide.
#1 Assassin’s Creed Rogue Error 0xc000007b Fix
If your game is being crashed and you are receiving 0xc000007b error than you most probably need to install directx or .Net Framework.
If you have them installed already, there is a possibility that the installation has gone corrupt so you might need fresh installation. Restart your computer after installation is over and the game should work fine.
#2 Assassin’s Creed Rogue – Poor Performance on Laptops
FPS drops and poor performance on laptops is usually due to two main reasons; either you are using the the wrong GPU to run the game or your machine is not plugged in.
You need to make sure that you are using the dedicated GPU (usually Nvidia/AMD) to run the game and your charger is plugged in while you play.
To change the GPU settings, you need to open the control panel for the installed card and force Assassin’s Creed Rogue to run using that GPU. Needless to say that you must be using the latest drivers for your GPU.
#3 Assassin’s Creed Rogue – The Game Crashes with ACC.exe has Stopped Working Error
This error could occur due to multiple reasons. First, make sure that you aren’t using any third party tools MSI Afterburner, Dxtory in the background. These applications have been reported to be the reason for game crashes.
Also, if you are using multiple monitors, try running the game on single monitor (just for test) to see if the problem is with your display configuration.
#4 Assassin’s Creed Rogue – Locked Frame Rates
According to some reports, Assassin’s Creed Rogue is locked at 30FPS. Well, that’s not the case as like many other PC games, those frames are highly dependent on your hardware and graphics settings you have chosen from the menu.
Try lowering the setting a bit and you will be able to see improvement in FPS.
#5 Assassin’s Creed Rogue – The Game Doesn’t Start
First thing you need to do is verify the cache of game files. If that doesn’t work, try running the game as admin. You can also try the troubleshooting steps mentioned above.
#6 Assassin’s Creed Rogue – How to Skip Intro Videos
If you are being stuck at the intro videos of Assassin’s Creed Rogue or just don’t want to see them, you can modify/delete some files to get rid of them.
You need to find Videos folder in the game’s folder and then look for acr_logo.bik, ubi_logo.bik, abstergo_logo.bik files. Either rename or delete them.
Now go to your language folder and delete the file named “warning_disclaimer.bik.” Start the game again and there shouldn’t be any intros and you will directly land to menu screen.
