To the makers of Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, and for the fans, verticality is going to be a major aspect of the game given the new movement set of the game – especially after the Havoc DLC.
So right now, the developers think that they should be incorporating (or rather reimagining) maps that could help provide the playgrounds where the vertical movements are suited.
One thing that they are currently considering in that regard is to pay a visit to some old, classic maps of the game.
Sledgehammer Games’ co-founder Michael Condrey was discussing the map choices in Call of Duty Advanced Warfare when he mentioned how they were looking at opportunities to bring back some of the classic Call of Duty maps to the latest iteration in the series.
One new piece of feedback we have heard in Havoc is the fan desire to see some classic maps make their way to Advanced Warfare, and we’re taking a look at some opportunities to really highlight the vertical gameplay mechanics in some reimagined franchise favorites moving forward, like we did with Atlas Gorge.
While the game only just received the Havoc DLC to other platforms after the Xbox One exclusivity, Condrey is already trying to inch us closer to what is in store in the future. Something tells me that is going to have a lot to do with verticality component and (probably) the old maps.
I say that because the developers are “about to drop some news on how we’re pushing even further into that space in the coming DLC offerings.”
So tell us would you like Call of Duty Advanced Warfare to reintroduce some of the good old memories? Which maps would you like to play again?
