Charlie Nash has been officially confirmed by Capcom to return to Street Fighter V and there’s a new trailer of him in action.
A lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and one of Guile’s best friends, Nash was first mentioned in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (released in 1991). He though completely disappeared after that, until the Street Fighter Alpha series where in the second installment of 1996 he was shown to be killed by M.Bison and his men.
Nash’s return to Street Fighter V after all of these years signal that the story is far from over. Capcom will be revealing just how he survived and what role he now plays in the latest installment’s storyline.
Capcom has also announced an online beta program for Street Fighter V on both the PlayStation 4 and PC. The developer is conducting these online tests to collect feedback from participants. Feedback that will be used to design the game and hopefully deter thoughts of day-one updates.
In North America, players that pre-order the game will automatically be entered into the beta program. More details will be announced soon.
Street Fighter V is supposedly looking at a release date later this year for the PlayStation 4 and PC. The game will feature cross-platform play, enabling players on both sides to compete with each other.
