The new Guitar Hero is being readied for a full reveal at E3 2015, says a new report based on anonymous sources at Activision.
The new installment in the music series is expected to release later this year for, at least, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. It’s said to take a more realistic approach, boasting lifelike crowds, more accurate models of performers, and better sound quality.
New guitar peripherals are said to be already in development and will probably be unveiled at the exposition this summer.
Guitar Hero took a long break after the release of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock in 2010. A major factor of its hiatus was the low number of sales of rhythm games, which had reached the lowest point in its life.
The month of February has played host to a number of rumors surrounding the revival of the franchise. Harmonix though has yet to officially confirm anything. However, it has been throwing hints to a potential installment.
Activision has refused to comment on rumors and speculations. However, a spokesperson did offer a statement that the company is ever ready to bring back Guitar Hero if “we developed the right innovations to usher the franchise into the new generation of gaming.”
