Ever since Amazon acquired Twitch for a handsome amount of $970 million, the company has been on the up with additions like the availability of their services through Chromecast and the free music library that they announced.
Now, they are taking the fun to the people; the first ever official TwitchCon has been announced.
We’re excited to host the inaugural TwitchCon in our hometown of San Francisco, CA, September 25-26, 2015! A celebration of all things Twitch, TwitchCon will be an interactive convention for broadcasters and viewers alike to meet each other, learn how to take your Twitch game to the next level, and play together.
The two day TwtichCon 2015 is going to be held in Moscone West where you will be able to interact with broadcasters as well as the users. All this comes alongside the opportunity to experience live content being streamed at the event.
Emmett Shear, the chief executive officer of Twitch believes that the fans of Twitch deserve to be brought together in a major event where the content creators as well as the consumers can meet up:
Twitch broadcasters have the most passionate fans, so we want to create an amazing experience where they can come together in person. TwitchCon will be an opportunity for the entire community – broadcasters, game developers, viewers, and us – to play and learn together.
They are still to reveal details on the event schedule and in the coming days a call for content will also be made dedicated to the TwitchCon 2015.
Stay tuned for more information, we will update you as soon as Twitch shares more.
