Square Enix’s Tai Yasue has revealed some new information about Kingdom Hearts 3. According to the co-director, the game will have an extensive cast consisting of both new and old characters from the franchise.
Speaking in an interview, he shared new details about the anticipated RPG, in addition to explaining how the team is handling the development of different Kingdom Hearts projects.
There are two teams but they are mixed, overlapping and I guess the programmers are split. There is one team for porting 1.5 and 2.5, and 3. So they are separated but the game design and artists are overlapping due to both.
He further added:
Inside the HD version, everything is connected to Kingdom Hearts III, so we will have events that explains the backstory of the kingdoms so you get a full understanding. All of the content through 1.5 and 2.5 connect to the story of Kingdom Hearts 3.
Yasue-san said that many loose ends will be tied with the release of Kingdom Hearts 3. The saga will conclude with the game and many unanswered questions will be addressed. I think it’s safe to say this game is a must have for KH fans across the globe. “There is going to be lot of stuff like that in Kingdom Hearts 3, so expect a lot of characters, old and new.”
Kingdom Hearts 3 is still without a release date from Square Enix but the title is in development of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, one of the game’s voice actors, Bill Farmer, claims that the game will come out later this year.
