Halo: Nightfall has finally been dated and will release ahead of Halo 5: Guardians this March.
The new live action feature film based on the Halo franchise comprises of five episodes that are produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan. The episodes were originally aired on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 between November and December 2014.
The March release will be merging all five episodes into one feature film that will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray, as well as digital channels.
Set between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5, Nightfall focuses on Jameson Locke, a legendary manhunter and agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), Earth’s most powerful and secretive military branch.
The character will play a key role in Halo 5: Guardians and the film reveals his background and more for players to get ready.
Here’s a little teaser from 343 Industries to get you riled up, in case you missed out on the viewing last year:
Whilst investigating terrorist “chatter” on the distant colony world of Sedra, Locke and his crew are caught in a horrific biological attack. Led by Locke, ONI agents are forced to coordinate with the local command who have a deep-rooted mistrust of ONI. As they unravel a plot that draws them to an ancient, hellish artifact, they are forced to fight for their survival and to make the ultimate choice between their loyalty and their lives.
Halo 5: Guardians is expected to release later this year for Xbox One.
