Dissidia Final Fantasy Coming to Arcades, Teaser Trailer Released

Some more exciting news has come our way from Japan Amusement Expo. Square Enix has announced a new Final Fantasy game for arcades. Japanese arcades are getting a lot of love from developer lately as Tekken 7, Pokken Tournament and now a new FF game dubbed as Dissidia Final Fantasy is heading that way.

Unlike its predecessor, Dissidia Final Fantasy is going to use a three-vs-three battle system. Y’Shtola, seen in Final Fantasy XIV is announced as a playable character but it’s unclear if any characters from Final Fantasy XV will be a part of this new arcade game.

Moreover, the following characters are also confirmed as playable in Dissidia Final Fantasy:

The Onion Knight – Final Fantasy III
Terra Branford – Final Fantasy VI
Lightning – Final Fantasy XIII
Cloud Strife – Final Fantasy VII

Square Enix is going to hold a presentation on April 10 and it is believed that more information about the game will be shared. Similar to Pokken and others, Dissidia Final Fantasy is only announced for Japanese arcades. Square Enix has released a teaser trailer for the game as well, in addition to a teaser site.

There are also some visually impressive images from the game which you can see below. Previously, Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy was released on PlayStation Portable in 2011, hopes are that the latest entry may also see a handheld release in the future.
