Insomniac Games has announced that it plans to expand the Ratchet & Clank universe by releasing an all new title in the series for the PlayStation 4 this year.
This will be in addition to the Ratchet & Clank CGI movie of the same name, and which was announced at E3 2014.
Posting on its official website, the studio stated that the new game will borrow various core elements from Ratchet’s origin story. Alongside that it will feature updated gameplay, and completely new visuals that are being built from the ground up for the new console.
Both the California and North Carolina studios of Insomniac are working together on the game, and which features many of the original developers that were involved with the very first Ratchet & Clank game. Longtime Design Director Brian Allgeier, Studio Director Chad Dezern, and Game Director Shaun McCabe will lead the project.
Finally the short update provided by the studio also came with a new screenshot, that you can see above.
Ratchet & Clank will release later this year, and could probably see to a holiday release. We’ll most likely see Sony open up about the game at E3 in summers, and by which we’ll all hopefully be pretty happy with how the work is coming along.
