While it is a fact that Electronic Arts are not talking about Titanfall 2 in definite terms yet, we do have enough evidence to make us believe that it is surely going to happen.
But you knew that already, what’s new is one more reason for you to believe that the sequel will also release on PlayStation 4.
Electronic Arts chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen was attending echnology, Internet & Media Conference 2015 yesterday where he was rounded by journalists asking questions about the future of the series and its exclusivity to Xbox One.
Based on what he decided to reveal, Titanfall 2 is definitely not going to be an Xbox One exclusive only. In fact, the publishers are eager to cover more platforms this time around:
Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven’t yet announced, but we’ll probably have another Titanfall game. It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that’s a huge positive for us.
Do notice, however, that Jorgensen didn’t mention PlayStation 4 specifically which could mean that the game is going for an even wider footprint than the two consoles. Or maybe I am reading between the lines a bit too much.
Nonetheless, the publishing rights of Titanfall 2 were secured by EA early a year ago and even then it was being rumored that the game will not be a Microsoft exclusive. The official word from one of EA’s representatives just reconfirms the same thing.
With all that being said, EA is also planning to make sure that one new first person shooter comes out of their studios every year. He even suggested that while this year and the next will be taken up by Battlefield and Battlefront, 2016 could be the year for Titanfall’s sequel!
