Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Adds New Cast for Inhuman Role
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television series will be returning to action next month, and we can expect quite a few new faces following the revelations of the second season’s finale.
The company has confirmed that an additional Inhuman will also become a part of the cast, with Luke Mitchell being tipped for the very role.
The Home and Away and The Tomorrow People star will be playing as a ‘charismatic’ Inhuman called Lincoln, who will aid Skye in understanding the extent of her new powers.
“With the revelations surrounding Skye’s true identity in the Winter Finale, we knew we’d be introducing more Inhumans as our story progressed,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “The charming energy Luke brings to the role will make him a character to watch as we continue our season.”
Lincoln seems to be an all-new character created specifically for the series, but we shouldn’t be surprised if he does end up being a spiritual representation of a known Marvel character, or at least taking inspiration from one.
Marvel seems to be tying their TV series closely to their movies – all of these individual projects are set in the same Marvel Universe, so we can expect further convergence, as the series fills certain gaps between the previous films and the ones that are yet to come.
This summer will mark the end of Marvel’s ‘Phase 2’ with Ant-Man, after which Phase 3 will begin, which will feature a movie called Inhumans in 2018.
Season 3 of Agents of SHIELD will commence on March 3.
