Battlefield Hardline will feature non-lethal weaponry which will not only be available in single-player campaign, but will also play an important role in multiplayer mode.
The developer, Visceral Games recently conducted a roundtable interview session where the studio’s General Manager, Steve Papoutsis discussed how non-lethal weaponry will impact the game’s multiplayer mode.
Papoutsis stated that there is a large arsenal of non-lethal weaponry in the game, such as stun gun and manacles. He stated that players can tie their enemies and interrogate them which will reveal the exact location of enemy team on mini-map:
On the multiplayer side, we’ve got some fun mechanics — again, the stun gun and the non-lethal take downs, and you can also handcuff or zip tie guys, depending on if you’re cops or criminals, and once you’ve done that, you can interrogate them, which will reveal the locations of their squad mates on the map for a very short period of time, so that’s another kind of bonus for playing non-lethally in multiplayer.
This does seem like a nice mechanic that should differentiate Battlefield Hardline from its predecessors, but I’m very much interested to see how this will play out in the actual game.
In related Battlefield Hardline news, Visceral Games has at last unveiled official PC system requirements which require GTX 760 or AMD 290 coupled with a Quad-core CPU and 8GB of RAM. For more information, check this link!
