No matter how many Japanese titles we have in the midst, there is always space for a classic’s return. The game that Square Enix have been teasing for a while now is the latest installment in the 32 year old Spelunker series.
They were holding their NicoNico Livestream from Tokaigi 2015 when the announcement was made.
Tokaigi: Japan Game Party was being held in Chiba, near Tokyo at the Makuhari Messe where Square Enix finally unveiled their previously codenamed project.
The publishers had promised last week that a new PlayStation 4 exclusive will be announced at the event.
Project CODE Z is now officially called Minna De Spelunker Z, and it is being developed by Tozai Games who have previously been involved with the series through the development of Splunker HD.
Other than that we have been told that Minna De Spelunker Z is going to be a free to play game that will support online play for up to six players.
We have also embedded the video from the event so that you can check out what the game really looks like. Do tell us if you will be playing it.
The release date of Minna De Spelunker Z was also revealed at the event; you will be able to download it on your PlayStation 4 on March 19, 2015.
