From Software is notorious for releasing high-quality, mercilessly difficult games, and according to them Bloodborne will be no exception.
The brutal reputation of difficult games comes from their previous titles such as Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, and Dark Souls II. Though From Soft rose to fame through the Dark Souls series, it was Demon’s Souls gameplay that set the crucifying difficulty standards, which were reiterated in the Dark Souls games.
According to producer Masaaki Yamagiwa, the PlayStation 4 exclusive title Bloodborne will match the difficulty levels of Demon Souls.
“Demon’s Souls fans can expect the same level of challenge and sense of achievement with Bloodborne. In fact, I think the sense of achievement will be even higher.”
By sense of achievement, Yamagiwa certainly means that the difficulty will be up a notch.
One of the best features of the Souls games was that they were highly rewarding once a player hide finally managed to defeat a near-impossible boss or certain part of a dungeon.
This successful mechanic is expected to be repeated in Bloodborne, along with new elements to give players a familiar experience in a completely new setting.
Bloodborne is a PlayStation 4 exclusive title, set to be released on March 24.
