Blizzard Has ‘Low Expectations’ From Heroes Of The Storm, Says Company Insider
Earlier today, an article was posted on Yahoo Finance which contained information which is claimed to have obtained from an insider of Blizzard. The article was removed soon after posting, but the article’s author has posted it again on his own Tumblr page.
Amongst some interesting tidbits shared by insider was the revelation that studio does not have too much expectations from Heroes of the Storm.
The insider in question said that executives in company have “low expectations” from the upcoming Blizzard’s title, Heroes of the Storm and some of the staff that worked on the title might be laid off.
He/she continued on to reveal that there’s very little chance of OverWatch coming out by the end of this year, but release in early 2016 is a possibility.
The digital card game from Blizzard, Hearthstone has been enjoying a lot of success. Insider reveals that the game will receive “PVE focused” content in the near future. Moreover, he stated that that team behind the game is “also experimenting with a 2 vs. 2 version.”
Another major news coming straight from the insider is that the members of Diablo III team have started to work on a new project that is based in the Starcraft universe.
Some other revelations from the insider are listed below:
- The next Starcraft 2 game is already done and ready to go. The release date is still not settled. The current time window ranges from April to June.
- The World of Warcraft team has “quadrupled” its art outsourcing, which has been a bottleneck in the past. The next expansion is almost “feature complete.”
Although these are some interesting revelations, but they should just be taken with a grain of salt until an official announcement about them has been made by Blizzard.
