Resident Evil Revelations 2 raid mode was showcased for the first time yesterday, and just after the reveal, Capcom has confirmed that this mode will feature micro-transactions.
Capcom, in a statement to Kotaku clarified that the micro-transactions will not be included in the campaign, but will be a part of Raid mode.
The players will be able to purchase life crystals which will allow them to respawn right after they have been taken down. These crystals will be of two colors red and blue.
Although, both of them will serve the same purpose, but if players earn the crystal during the raid mode, then that will be of blue color, whereas purchased crystal will be colored red.
The crystals essentially act as continues (re spawns) in Raid mode when players die. Blue life crystals can be earned through playing daily missions and red life crystals can be bought. The two crystals act the same, but there’s an option to buy if players run out of blue (earned) crystals or don’t want to spend the time earning them.
So, there will be micro-transactions in the game but from the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like that it will affect the overall gameplay experience.
First episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 is scheduled to hit the digital stores on Feb. 24, 2015.
