After the release of Goblins vs Gnomes, Blizzard has been keeping a close eye on the matches to see how balanced the cards are. As a result, Blizzard has come to a conclusion that Undertaker was “frustrating to play against” in Hearthstone.
That’s mainly due to his ability to gain attack and health significantly when summoning a minion with Deathrattle. In an upcoming patch for the popular card game, Blizzard will make “balance change” and adjustments to Undertaker.
That’s one way of saying, there’re going to nerf the poor guy. The developer explained in a post:
Undertaker was frustrating to play against. It often gained both Attack and Health stats significantly above those of other inexpensive minions very early in the game. With this change, we expect Undertaker will still be better than other 1-Mana minions when played in a deck with a Deathrattle theme, but more likely to die in combat against other minions.
Undertaker gaining attack and health whenever a Deathrattle minion shows up was indeed having an effect to the overall balance of things. Players were using it as a viable strategy to turn this card into a juggernaut.
Blizzard further said that more changes will be made whenever they see fit, in order to make “Hearthstone a more fun and interactive game for everyone.”
The release date for the update is not mentioned for now but it won’t be long before it comes out. So enjoy Undertaker’s dominance as much as you can before he’s nerfed for good.
