Halo: The Master Cheif Collection was supposed to take us down memory lane but the journey was plagued with matchmaking, UI and other issues. Similar to Ubisoft who gave away Assassin’s Creed Unity: Dead Kings DLC for free, 343 is trying to make up for our disappointment with free gifts.
If you have played Halo: The Master Cheif Collection online on December 19, 2014 or anytime before that, you are eligible for the following free gifts, that are now available.
1: Free Month of Xbox Live
2: In-game Nameplate
3: In-game Avatar
Players should note that they won’t have to follow any steps or verification process to get these three gifts. They are yours if you have received a message from Microsoft, so check your inbox.
The news of these gifts was announced back in December along with an apology from Bonnie Ross.
While these gifts are appreciated and we know 343 worked hard to fix the game after release, it would have been ideal if the game was released after proper QA. Apology items are welcomed to make up for things but there is no excuse for unfinished products.
If the game was delayed a couple of months, it would have been a much better product. Hopefully, things will get better as we head further into this console cycle.
