For a while now, fans have been waiting to get their hands of Bethesda’s popular Elder Scrolls Online. The console version of the game was suppose to come out last year but was delayed, as Bethesda felt it needed more time.
We were all waiting for a new release date to be announced, but the company kept their silence on the matter. It’s not uncommon though for online retailers, such as Amazon to leak release dates early. However, most of the time they don’t turn out to be true.
But when a major company, Microsoft, leaks a release date, it’s considered as a big deal. Because surely, Microsoft knows the happenings of the industry better than Amazon.
Little less than a week ago, Microsoft listed the awaited Elder Scrolls Online for Xbox One as a February 24, 2015 release. Publishers all over the internet caught the story and started to speculate on things to come.
However, Bethesda’s confirmation was missing from the scene. The company has finally commented on the matter and stated that they “haven’t announced a release date” and won’t comment on rumors or speculations.
Microsoft Store has now changed their stance as well, and once again posted a release window of 2015. As for the February 2015 release date, it can’t be said for sure if this was just a mistake or actual information got leaked early.
Back in December 2014, Elder Scrolls Online was seen running on a PS4. Bethesda at the time stated that the game is running well but requires more work.
Judging by the amount of broken games released last year, it’s a good thing Bethesda is taking their time with the game.
I believe that this game is not too far from release on console but we’ll have to wait and see how things turn out.
Hopefully, we won’t have to face another delay.
