The former Shaolin monk Kung Lao and Kitana, princess of Edenia, will be returning in Mortal Kombat X this year, NetherRealm Studios has announced.
A new gameplay trailer released today confirmed the new roster addition, and which focuses on a variety of moves and combos of both characters.
The montage slaps together scenes from other characters who already have been announced, and who take part in giving us a short tease to the fatality moves of both Kung Lao and Kitana.
In addition to that, the trailer also revealed the first look at Goro. The four-armed Shokan warrior was previously revealed to be a pre-order incentive. Those who purchase the game before its release will be given free access to play as the behemoth and wreak havoc.
Goro will most probably be offered later on as paid DLC, but it’s unsure at what cost. Mortal Kombat X is the latest installment in the franchise.
The last iteration was pretty well done and was so after some time. There’s no denying that the franchise took off on very high notes but somewhere in between got mashed up with titles that left a bad taste in our mouths.
Mortal Kombat X is shaping up to be a prized fighting title in the current video game-generation.
The environments are better than ever and the details are jaw dropping. This time around, players get to choose multiple variations of each character which impacts both strategy and fighting style.
The game is scheduled for release on April 14 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
