Visceral Games has provided more details about the upcoming multiplayer beta for Battlefield: Hardline. This will be the second time that the game will be opened up for the public.
The first beta took place last year and was exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PC. This time however, Visceral plans to conduct a beta across all platforms, including the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
The second open beta will also feature two new maps (to be revealed later) and two different modes: Hotwire and Conquest. Hotwire is being introduced for the first time in the franchise’s history.
Teams will earn points only when driving vehicles and driving recklessly. Conquest is the same old 64-player mayhem that has been see in Battlefield titles since the beginning.
There will be no cap on the maximum progression level and players can play until they drop or while the beta lasts. However, a release date has not been mentioned and the developer is only teasing that it will be soon.
“To be frank, we want you to play this beta to death. We need you to,” Visceral Games general manager Steve Papoutsis said. “This test is only going to make the game stronger, and help us take a look at ways we can ensure we deliver the most stable launch you deserve.”
As always, the developer is open to constructive criticism.
Battlefield: Hardline is scheduled for release on March 17 for all major platforms. The game was delayed on the basis of community feedback, something we don’t normally see from an EA title. This had a lot to do with what Battlefield 4 went through.
