Microsoft’s flagship racer, Forza Motorsport, is getting a new installment in the series. Microsoft announced Forza Motorsport 6 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The game will be released exclusively for Xbox One.
The news of a new Forza came along with another exciting announcement as the brand new model of Ford GT was revealed to the world. Not only that, but the new Ford GT will be on the cover of Forza MotorSport 6. Ford’s line-up of performance cars will also be a part of the game.
These include GT,F-150 Raptor and Shelby GT350 Mustang.
On the occasion, creative director at Turn 10, Dan Greenawalt stated:
Just as Ford has pushed the boundaries of car technology in GT, Forza Motorsport 6 will embrace that spirit of innovation as our most technically advanced racing simulation to date, offering a fun and realistic automotive experience for both car lovers and gamers,
Fans of the series will surely be excited to see and know more about the game, but they will have to wait till E3 2015. Which is going to be held in June.
Back in 2013, Turn 10 released Forza MotorSport 5 and then last year we got to play Forza Horizon 2. It looks like Microsoft and Turn 10 have decided to annualize the franchise.
Since they haven’t confirmed a 2015 release, it can’t be said for sure if the franchise is now annualized. However, a statement from Alan Hartman, seems to indicate towards a 2015 release.
When asked the question of the game’s release, he replied: “We have a regular cadence of releases going, so we’ll leave it up to your imagination,” He was further asked if he would like to sell the game this year, he said that he’ll “love to.”
