The year 2014 is behind us and we are officially a week into 2015. Lots of exciting stuff to come as companies fight hard to make sales and grab our attention at every step of the way.
Speaking of sales, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has managed to sell 925,570 units in Japan, since its arrival to the land of the rising sun, in early 2014.
Note: Sales Data was compiled by Famitsu
What’s more interesting is that PlayStation Vita managed to sell 1.4 million units in the same period. This made Vita the best selling platform for Sony in Japan, which I believe is somewhat due to the fact that Vita is marketed as a companion device for the PS4.
How can we not talk about Nintendo, while speaking about Japanese sales?
Nintendo 3DS was the top selling gaming device, selling 3,153,045 units in 2014. While the Wii U was seen struggling at 604,856.
When it comes to software sales, Yokai Watch 2: Ganso/Honke on 3DS came out on top. Below, you can see the accumulated Japanese hardware and software sales for 2014. Feel free to share your views about the story, in the comments section.
