The official Resident Evil: Revelations 2 website has been updated with new details about the sequel’s multiplayer Raid mode.
The “shoot-and-loot” style mode pits players against multiple waves of enemies on multiple stages. Working together, they must go through each wave and in doing so obtain more powerful weapons.
These weapons can be then used on even harder stages against harder enemies. This vicious cycle caused players in the previous Revelations title to spend hundreds of hours and will probably offer a similar experience in the sequel.
The Raid Mode in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will begin with the character choosing screen. According to Capcom there “are plenty of characters to match all tastes”. Once the player customization has been done, players will move on to customizing their weapons and skills.
Once done, it’s time to be deployed on field. Players will have something extra to look out for this time – Treasure chests. Unfortunately, Capcom hasn’t mentioned what these chests will contain.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will support cooperative Play in its Raid Mode, as well as local two-player split-screen.
The first episode will release on February 17, followed by three more in the weeks to follow. The game will land on disc on March 10. Until then, players can enjoy it through the wonders of digital platforms.
