There’s no stopping PlayStation 4 at the moment as it has managed to cross 1 million sales in France as well. Previously, the console achieved the same milestone in UK and Germany.
PS4 was able to achieve this 1 million mark faster than any of its predecessors or competitors, making it the fastest selling console in the country.
Managing Director of PlayStation France, Philippe Cardon seemed quite thrilled about this achievement as he stated:
The demand for PS4 is still very strong since launch, even stronger than PlayStation 2, which was the best-selling console ever until the launch of PS4 and we’re thrilled with the response from gamers.
He continued on to thank the fans who opted for Sony’s new gen machine and assured that there is a lot more stuff headed their way in the future.
From launch, our main focus has been making PS4 ‘The Best Place to Play’, so we’re delighted that so many gamers have made it their system of choice. We’d like to thank them for their amazing support and feedback so far, and assure them that their PS4 experience will only get better in the months and years to come.
Sony did not manage to do so well this fall in terms of exclusive PS4 titles, but the upcoming year looks quite promising as we have got The Order: 1886 coming in February, followed by Bloodborne release in March.
Overall, PS4 has sold over 15 million units, and you can expect this number to increase even more during the upcoming holidays.
