German company InnoGames has achieved a total revenue of €80 million in 2014, which is nearly $100 million. It has also added 80 new employees this year, putting its staff at over 350 strong.
Total staff for the developer and publisher is a little lower than anticipated. Initially, the company announced in February that it wanted to tick towards 400 recruits by the end of the year.
As expected from a previous report in September, the company’s growth is due to a large growth in the mobile market. Their stake increased by 500% in comparison to 2013.
CEO Hendrik Klindworth states that this success is mostly due to Forge of Empires, one of their more popular titles, getting ported to mobile devices. On iPad, that title was in the top five of strategy games this year.
Forge of Empires is due for release on Android in 2015. Klindworth is optimistic that this will increase the company’s mobile presence more.
In 2014, InnoGames managed to expand its studio to two new locations. A new office was set up in Hamburg first and later that year another building opened in Düsseldorf.
Additionally, the studio has started work on several new intellectual properties (IP). Titles like Elvenar or Rising Generals have started production in the company’s usual model of providing free-to-play browser games.
InnoGames will continue its growth in both mobile development and new IP’s in 2015. Just recently, the company announced that it will now use Unreal Engine 4 for a yet unannounced game on both iOS and Android.
