Don’t you just love Borderlands? Me too, and when we love something, we just can’t get enough of it right? We want more and more is just what we might get.
Borderlands is one of the most loved new series to emerge in the last 7-8 years. It’s been a year since we saw the dawn of current-gen consoles and so far, Borderlands has evaded these new platforms and fans will surely be itching to get a new installment.
However, a new installment might not come anytime soon but something else maybe on its way. According to a listing on the official Australian Ratings Board website, something called Borderlands Remastered Edition has received an MA 15+.
It’s also listed as a multiplatform title, indicating towards its release on Sony’s PlayStation 4 as well as Microsoft’s Xbox One. Obviously, a remastered version is highly unlikely to release on PS3 and Xbox 360, so no point discussing that.
Furthermore, there are currently three titles in the Borderlands series available for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The listing failed to mention which of these games is being remastered for new consoles. All of them maybe? Sort of like a collection.
As seen in the image above, Take 2 Interactive is named the applicant while the author is Gearbox Software/ 2K Australia. Judging by this evidence, we might be pretty close to an official announcement.
Still, until we hear something from the creators, it’s best to keep our expectations low. For confirmation, we have reached out to Take 2 Interactive, as soon as they comment on the matter, we’ll let you know.
Till then, feel free to speculate in the comments below!
