After a long spell of no information whatsoever, Heavy Spectrum finally talked about the PlayStation 4 reboot of Shadow of the Beast.
During PlayStation Experience’s Generation 8 – A New Golden Age! Panel, Heavy Spectrum’s Matt Birch praised Sony for their continuous support and shared some details regarding the game’s origin.
The thing that was in my head, had an opportunity to become a game that people can play. Sony were incredible supportive when we started to talk about this idea.
I then started to think about the 25 years of golden era gaming between what that little kid saw and where I am now, and where it could go into the future. That is when we spoke to Sony when we first produced our concept art.
He then went on to talk about how the concept of the game developed and how they eventually managed to show off the game at Gamescom 2013.
During the same panel, Matt shared some new concept art that he was able to bring to life using Sony’s latest console. You can check it out in the gallery below:
All the concept art is looking great, and it is good to know that the development of Shadow of the Beast is still going on.
Here’s hoping that we will get a look at the gameplay of this 1989 title’s reboot sooner rather than later.
