There’s no official confirmation just yet, but it’s nearly certain that Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster will be available on Playstation 4 in 2015. A full description and box art for the game appeared on the French store of publisher Square Enix.
This item has since been removed from view, but that’s a pretty official source to have a game land. It’s not like when a rumor starts because a game was spotted on some Amazon portal.
Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster would set fans back another €49.99. Previously, the remake was put out earlier this year on Playstation 3 and PS Vita.
Square Enix is sort of known for repurposing every scrap of content, so it’s not like another port won’t make sense. Hell, the company just announced another Final Fantasy VII redo, this time headed to PS4, but not in a full remake, because it’s not like everyone’s asking for that sort of thing.
Originally, Final Fantasy X was a landmark edition in its franchise. Its story sees a young protagonist, Tidus, team up with a priest, Yuna, as they try to rid the world of its monstrous evil.
There’s a particularly popular mini-game in Final Fantasy X, called Blitzball, which acts like underwater handball. It features the ability to recruit players from all over the world.
In Final Fantasy X-2, the story focuses on Yuna and a few friends. After gaining independence, the group now must come to the land’s aid again, because people can’t seem to accept peace for what it is.
It’d be interesting to see how they’re going to improve on Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster, since it’s already a remake. We’re going to go with more costumes for the dress-up party that is FFX2.
