Endless PC Series Sold More Than 1.2 Million Copies

In this end year season of sales, some companies are banking hard. For example, developer Amplitude Studios announced that their Endless series has now breached a million in sales.

During last Black Friday, the studio was able to reach more than 1.2 million copies sold across their three titles: Endless Space, Endless Legend and Dungeon of the Endless. In particular, publisher Iceberg Interactive points to Steam’s Autumn sale that ran alongside the shopping event.

During the Steam promotions, Endless Legend was able to maintain a top seller position for nearly a day, rocketing through sales. Its 4X conquest genre is a favorite on PC, where many are also into games like Civilization V.

Chronologically, the franchise starts with Amplitude’s first title, Endless Space. This 4X game saw players choose an empire and fly all over the galaxy for universal domination.

Endless Space put the developer on the map officially. Its easy to learn design and original takes on quests and combat won the highest honors at the Unity Awards.

Later on, the company followed up with Endless Legend, a 4X strategy game that now took place in a mystical new world, filled with monsters and strange ruins. It maintains a solid tactical combat aspect, as well as high roleplaying game (RPG) feel with individual races.

Its last title, Dungeon of the Endless, is another venture altogether. Here, the visuals switch to pixel art and the genre transforms tower defense in a roguelike RPG with management elements.

Dungeon of the Endless is also a game that’s under care of the developer itself. The two other Endless games have been published under Iceberg Interactive.
