Destiny has been out in the wild for a few months now and players have worked hard to level-up their Guardian(s). Bungie is not letting go of Destiny anytime soon, which means there would be a sequel.
The question is, do we have to say goodbye to our existing Guardiana when the sequel hits the market? Or will we be able to carry over all the character progression. Surely, you don’t want to go through all the hassle once again, to make a powerful character.
Thankfully, Bungie has clarified that players will be allowed to transfer their character progression, when this franchise further expands.
Speaking in an interview, David Dague stated:
“The idea is that the Guardian you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure. If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time.”
That’s a relief, isn’t it? Bungie further confirmed this point to IGN.
Bungie hasn’t yet commented on the release window of a sequel, but they do have a 10 year plan for Destiny:
“It’s been no secret that we have a ten-year plan for the expansion and evolution of this franchise, and it’s something that we’re always dreaming about,”
Destiny has been a success for Bungie so a sequel is inevitable. However, there is still tons of stuff to do in the original game and places to explore. I don’t think we’ll be seeing a sequel for a couple of years atleast.
