Well, if any one of us had any confusion in their mind about the authenticity of the game’s leak, it has been clarified by Capcom that Street Fighter V is really coming to PS4 and PC exclusively.
With that leak being legit, we have another news for you. The official boxart of the game has been revealed.
As you can see in the image above, the featured character is Ryu who is looking quite formidable with the red boxing gloves. However, I keep wondering how Chun Li would have looked on top of the PS4 box instead of Ryu.
That being said, the leak of Street Fighter V for PS4 and PC has come in as a massive surprise for most of us owing to the choice of platforms as well as the contradiction this poses with what the developers have been saying the past year.
For instance, Yoshinori Ono, the veteran producer of the series had said over a year ago that they didn’t have the budget or staff to make a new game. Producer Tomoaki Ayano had also suggested last year that the process of a new game’s development was ‘long and arduous,’
He hinted at the nine years they had taken to move from Street Fighter III to Street Fighter IV. Compared to that, the news of Street Fighter V is surely coming early.
We don’t have any word regarding the release plans of the game; Ono only just confirmed the existence of the game at PlayStation Experience. So I think it is going to be a while before we are talking dates.
