Last night’s PlayStation Experience ended with David Jaffe announcing his new game called Drawn to Death.
In development for the PlayStation 4 by The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency are develop, Drawn to Death is a hand-drawn arena shooter where players battle it out in a creative teenager’s notebook full of alive doodles.
Jaffe described the arena shooter as a “violent and bizarre landscape filled with all of the weird, amazing, passionate, and exciting fantasies that are swimming around in the head of our teenage artist.”
The game is available to play at the PlayStation Experience and is currently in its pre-alpha stage. Jaffe said that he and his studio would love to hear feedback from the community on what they liked and what features can be improved.
You can visit the game’s official website to sign up for the game’s early access. If you sign up this weeekend, you’ll gain access to a “super rare, super limited in-game mystery item.”
I personally found the concept very impressive. A world set in the pages of a sketchbook leaves so much room for possibilities. However, the intense whiteness of pretty much everything marred my experience of watching the debut footage.
This game needs colors.
Surely the creative teenager has a bunch of crayons stacked somewhere. I hope Jaffe takes that into consideration while pushing this game into its alpha state.
