Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Have Sold Over 7.7 Million Copies Globally

The popular 3DS remakes, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have shipped over 7.7 million units globally, the Pokemon Company announced earlier today.

Earlier this week, the company announced that the both versions have sold over 3.0 million units across Japan, the United States, and other regions following its release on Nov. 21, 2014. The stats are being attributed to the game’s European release – Nov. 28, 2014.

The company has also announced that the 7.7 million units figure is about 135 per cent more than the Pokemon X & Y which only managed to sell 4.0 million units worldwide at launch.

When we talk about the original Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire for Game Boy Advanced, those versions managed to sell around 16.22 million copies worldwide. It is still a long way ahead, but it is good to see that the popular remakes are on the right track.
