Many times, we have been at the receiving end of breaking news at the hands of Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox. So naturally, whenever he comes up to comment on something it is supposed to be taken seriously.
Recently he was answering multiple questions posed by fans over at his official Twitter profile. One of the fans suggested to crossover two massive franchises; Halo and Gears of War.
Interestingly, Spencer was more interested than expected. He said that they would ‘probably want to change genres if we were going to do this. Not sure it’s in our future but interesting idea.’ In fact, he said that ‘disrupting the expected can lead to the cool things.’
Some other fans also suggested a pairing ability between the Xbox One and Xbox 360 with Windows 10 PC. He thinks that it was a good idea that we should give them some time.
As far as the promotions relating to the Xbox One console are concerned, the Assassin’s Creed bundle has been popping up almost everywhere. However, that isn’t going to be the end of it. He says that retailers are going to be making ‘special promos through the Holidays’ while the AC bundle will last until the year ends.
Last but not the least, Spencer is not going to be at VGA 2014 and in some way that is a massive hint that we are not looking at a major announcement at the Game Awards. Obviously, if the head of Xbox is not there, it is highly unlikely that Microsoft has some big surprise up their sleeve.
So what do you think of the crossover idea between Halo and Gears of War?
