Earlier today, the France division of online retailer Amazon allegedly listed ZombiU 2 for a release on the Wii U in October 2015.
The listing was removed soon after but not before Jeuxvideo grabbed a couple of screenshots as proof.
While the original game took place in London, the screenshots suggest that this sequel will be set in New York. The listing comes as a big surprise. Firstly because Ubisoft stated last year that it had no plans for a sequel seeing that the original title failed to achieve any profits.
Secondly, the listing is under Namco Bandai as the distributor and knowing that Ubisoft still owns the rights to the property, we’ve not heard any news about a deal brokered between the two names.
Amazon France is known for accurately leaking titles before the intended time. It previously has managed to out names like Call of Duty: Black Ops II, GTA V for the PC, the Killzone Trilogy, The Last of Us: Remastered PlayStation 4 Bundle, and the Assassin’s Creed Anthology.
From its successful past record, it’s safe to assume that ZombiU 2 does exist and someone out there thought this was a good time to finish work on the sequel and release it for the Wii U next year.
