Although the upcoming Battlefield Hardline is a Battlefield game but it isn’t a traditional military oriented title. Unlike other Battlefield games, Hardline is based around a cop-vs-criminal idea.
EA has already confirmed that a new Battlefield game is in development for 2016. Now, the company has also stated that fans should rest assured that the series is going back to its military-style roots.
This was confirmed by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, at the 2014 UBS Global Technology Conference. He stated that he has already taken a look at 2016’s installment and it’s going to be a “fun, new Battlefield.”
“That will be a return to a Battlefield military-style game; more to come on that,” he stated.
Battlefield is taking a break from its traditional warfare in 2015, Which I assumed was due to the disaster known as Battlefield 4.
However, it seems as though that wasn’t the case, EA just wanted to give more time to fans, so that they can enjoy Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline. According to CEO Andrew Wilson:
“We want to give Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline players more time to enjoy these games and immerse themselves in a game, the live service, and the community.”
Makes sense, considering that it took a while to fix Battlefield 4 and make it run properly. So yes, I guess we do need more time to see what the game has to offer.
EA was planning to release Battlefield Hardline in October 2014 but later delayed the game till early 2015. Which indicates that EA seems to have learned its lesson and is not rushing the game.
