Final Fantasy XV looks to be making good progress and after seeing the new tech demo, saying that would perhaps be an understatement.
The video takes us behind the scenes and shows how the developers are going over the top in bringing to life what looks to be one of the – if not the – prettiest game on the current-gen consoles.
Square Enix is taking full advantage of its new Luminous engine and the results are just stunning. Every technological aspect of the game is being pushed to its limits, with hair effects being modeled after real world wigs that are rendered with motion capture to lighting that easily takes your breath away.
The upcoming action-RPG is currently in development for only the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. After seeing what we have so far of Final Fantasy XV, we can just wish for it to arrive on the PC as well.
Square Enix has still not announced a release date for the game. It was originally planned for release alongside Final Fantasy XIII as Final Fantasy 13: Versus. Beyond that Tetsuya Nomura stepped down to work on Kingdom Hearts III, which probably had some sort of affect on development.
Final Fantasy XV should release in 2015 and from the looks of it, the game will probably arrive late into the year.
