A new announcement trailer for Bladestorm: Nightmare has confirmed the release date for the upcoming medieval strategy title from Tecmo Koei.
The remake of 2007’s tactical action game Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War will release in North America on March 3 next year for the PS3, PS4 and Xbox One, while it will arrive in Europe on March 6.
Posted on the publisher’s official Facebook page, the new trailer shows a lot of new gameplay and gives viewers an idea of the battlefield mayhem to expect.
Fans of the original will not mind to know that Bladestorm: Nightmare maintains the core gameplay mechanics of the series, but now offers better visual capabilities – as evident from the trailer.
The game is split into two halves, where the first “Bladestorm” offers a historically accurate following of the 100 Years’ War. The second part, “Nightmare,” is an original storyline set in the same world and features wizards, dragons and other fantasy elements.
It’s unknown if the second half will follow a historic plot, even if it includes skills and elements that are not real.
Players are tasked with leading battalion of troops, where they can control up to 200 soldiers per squad and switch between four battalions in a single battle.
