Today, Rockstar released their highly anticipated GTA V on both the Xbox one and PS4.
Fans were eager to jump-into the upgraded nex-gen iteration. Unfortunately, for those who played the game on PS3 or Xbox 360, making the jump to next-gen became a headache.
Players are unable to transfer their previous progress and characters to the latest versions. Although there are a variety of issues but one that stood out for me is the inability to login with accounts that haven’t played the game since 2013.
This is preventing users from transferring their old data. Rockstar has released the following statements regarding these problems:
“We are urgently looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online-login on accounts that haven’t played GTA Online since 2013,” a statement from the company reads.
“If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks for your patience.”
There have been reports suggesting that the day-one patch of GTA V is preventing access to GTA Online.
I hope Rockstar gets on top of the situation as soon as possible.
GTA V is now available on all major platforms except PC. Fans will have to wait till early 2015 to grab a copy of the game for this platform.
