Publisher BigBen Interactive has announced that Asterix: The Mansion of the Gods will be out for Nintendo 3DS on November 28, 2014. This licensed game closely follows the story of the comic book with the same name.
Unsure how to defeat the resilient Gallic village in Armorica, Roman emperor Julius Caesar decides to smother the location in a grand project. Luxurious buildings, called the Mansion of the Gods, are erected around the village to attract the most posh and least agreeable residents of the Roman realm.
While Asterix tries to stop the initial buildings plans, the complex eventually takes form and the Gauls are flooded with the Roman culture.
Players will be able to play with Asterix, Obelix and Dogmatix, as they try to thwart the plans of Rome. It will be possible to roam freely in the village and surrounding buildings.
Additionally, Asterix can go on boar hunts or travel to the nearby forests to expel intruding Roman units. Naturally, you’ll also need to brew the magic potion from the comics to gain the strength to eventually rout the Roman forces.
There will be 16 activities in total, spread across two difficulty modes.
Asterix: The Mansion of the Gods on 3DS is out at a similar time as its 3D-film, which will start in theaters on November 26. The comic book dates back to 1971.
If you ask us, the Asterix arcade game from Konami in 1992 is still the best release we’ve ever seen for the franchise. Konami did similar games for names like The Simpsons.
