For a while now almost every expansion of Blizzard’s highly popular MMO, World of Warcraft, has had a rocky start.
While it is understandable given the game has around 6 million active players and even more join in when a new expansion is released, it still is disappointing to see that even after years nothing has been done to remedy it.
The recent launch of Warlords of Draenor, the fifth expansion of the game that was released in 2004, was no different.
Players were met with insanely long queues upon joining their realm that is if they could login at all. The sudden influx of players even caused some servers to crash.
Meanwhile Blizzard has been hard at work fixing the quest or world bugs which can be expected from the launch of such a big MMO along with increased the hardware capabilities of servers to support more players.
It is however a shame that they failed to anticipate such issues before hand.
The community continues to get restless with each passing day since they are unable to play for the days they paid for but they have somewhat learned to stay patient as these issues usually get resolved within a month of launch.
Let’s hope Blizzard manages to do them even quicker since it is after all their most ambitious expansion yet.
