Terraria’s release on the PlayStation and Xbox One earlier this week might have gone under the radar in the wake of the web discussing the latest Ubisoft fiasco. 505 Games now wants to make sure everyone realizes what makes the game’s next-gen version special.
According to the publisher, the 2D open-world sandbox game is three times in size compared to the last-gen versions. It also has over a thousand new items, including 10 new ores, four new wood types, 31 new brick types, 12 new wing types, 29 new tinker combinations, 50 new paintings, eight new friendly NPCs, 15 new pets, over 100 new enemies, four new bosses, and more.
On the PlayStation 4, players can make use of a pinch-to-zoom function which is tied to the touch pad on the DualShock 4.
The PS4 version also comes with Cross-Play between PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. This allows players to transfer save files between different PlayStation platforms, and enjoy cross-platform online multiplayer.
Terraria is priced at $19.99 on the PS4 and Xbox One. Purchasing a PS4 version now will also get you the PS Vita version for free. This bundle is available for only a limited time and those owning both platforms should take advantage of it quick.
Note, however, that this doesn’t work the other way around. Purchasing a Vita version of Terraria will not entitle you to a free PS4 version.
