Remember that Far Cry 3 map editor that allowed you to do all sorts of crazy stuff like spawn sharks on top of a hill? Well the editor is returning once again in Far Cry 4 for players to go wild. There is however a catch, players can’t edit competitive multiplayer maps.
Fans had already suspected this since a live stream showed the edition option to be only available for the game’s challenge maps and their fears have now been confirmed by Alex Hutchinson, Far Cry 4’s game director.
There is a however a ray of hope which players can look forward to. Following the huge outburst by the community on Ubisoft forums, Alex clarified on Twitter that while the feature isn’t available yet, it might be added later after the game release since the developers will continue to support the game for a long time.

Far Cry 4’s map maker will let you create custom levels for four mission map types – Assault (kill all enemies), Hunt (kill all animals), Outpost (capture an outpost) and Extraction (survive from point A to B) which can then be shared online with other community members.
Far Cry 4 is set to release on 18th November for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
