Resident Evil Revelations 2 is looking to take the series back to its survival horror roots. The game puts you in the shoes of Claire Redfield as you escape an abandoned detention facility.
New details about the game were shared in the videos posted on YouTube, showing gameplay and menus. One thing fans will be happy to know that laser pointers are back.
Other then that, if we look at the camera-angle, it is similar to the one used in the original title.
Unlike Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, which were more action focused and gave a third-person shooter vibe; Revelations 2 will ask you to be stealthy and use your ammunition management skills.
As it was previously revealed, Revelations 2 will feature co-op play, and Moira Barton will be on Claire’s side and in addition to that, game will feature partner-switching. Meaning, you can easily switch between Claire and Moira.
This type of gameplay was previously only used in Resident Evil Zero. Inventory menu is also making a comeback. Both Moira and Claire will have different inventories.
Claire will be able to carry more items as her inventory menu is made up of ten slots compared to Moira’s five. Furthermore, both Claire and Moira are able to sneak past monsters, and they can dodge attacks by pressing designated buttons.
Lastly, while playing as Claire, you must be careful as she is the only character who can die. Moira will get injured and will require treatment of iconic Resident Evil Green Herbs.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 is an episodic series and will be released for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC in early 2015.
