Four years after the release of Just Cause 2, Avalanche Studios has today confirmed the existence of Just Cause 3.
The open-world action/adventure title is set in the Mediterranean and will indeed see to the return of the grappling hook and parachute. This time though they will feature “vastly improved” mechanics, details of which are unknown at the moment.
In addition to the two, Just Cause 3 will see the debut of a new wingsuit. Just Cause 3 is part of the December cover story of Game Informer.
The latest edition will go live for digital subscribers later today and will host some more details about the new installment.
Just Cause 2 has so far sold more than six million copies across the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It has a popular modding community that earlier this year even added a multiplayer mod to the game which was acknowledged by the developers as well.
We’ll see if Avalanche Studios takes that into account for the new game. Interestingly, some rumors state that the developer has included some form of micro-transaction. We’ll see how that translates into in the days to come.
Publisher Square Enix has confirmed that Just Cause 3 is scheduled for release sometime in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
