A launch party held in London for Halo: The Master Chief Collection saw Xbox boss Phil Spencer take center stage and say that the game was a perfect opportunity for Microsoft to thank its amazing fans.
“Halo has always been synonymous with Xbox,” he said, “Halo: The Master Chief Collection allows us to thank our fans and celebrate with an amazing package that will introduce a new generation to the epic Halo universe.”
To no surprise, the game got raving reviews from everyone upon its release yesterday. While it’s too early for sales figures, Microsoft will no doubt have some steep numbers to show off next month.
In related news, the game’s regional release caused the matchmaking to form long queues where some players have reported to have waited out three hours before joining a match. Microsoft was quick to acknowledge the problem.
“We’re seeing longer than expected Matchmaking times for some regions, as the game is not yet available in all regions,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement.
“Matching times will improve as we continue to roll out. If you do not find a match after a few minutes, please restart your search.”
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available exclusively on Xbox One.
