Halo 5 multiplayer beta isn’t kicking off until next month but 343 Industries has given us our first look on what it has to offer. The reveal came in the form of a full match between two teams (can be seen above) and the video became the source of some new details.
Halo 5’s multiplayer will feature both ADS (aiming down sight) and sprinting. Almost every weapon in the game’s multiplayer will have some sort of Smart Scope as well.
While unlimited sprint is a part of the game but it comes at a cost. As long as you are sprinting, your shield will not recharge.
So this means if you choose to escape the heat of an encounter, your shield meter will keep indicting that you are just one shot away from having a trip back to your respawn point.
Movement is an integral part of Halo 5 multiplayer modes and another way to be mobile is by using Thruster Packs.
They are not similar to what we saw in Halo 4 because this time around every Spartan comes with a built-in Thruster Pack. So you can use them anytime you want.
Players can perform dash and charge towards someone at top speed (cool right?).
Moreover, while charging towards someone if you collide with them from front or side, this will take down their shields but if you manage to hit someone from behind, this will be an instant kill.
One other feature that is going to make people brag about their kills is called Ground Pound. jump in the air high enough and use the right thumbstick to perform this move, that will kill anyone in your way.
We can expect a lot of Ground Pound kills posted on Youtube and Twitch once the beta starts.
Lastly, I am happy to report that Midship map is back. The classic Halo 2 map is renamed as Truth. The map is identical to the original with the only change being in its size, in order to compensate the new Thruster Pack feature.
More details on the multiplayer are expected in the coming weeks. If you are interested to be a part of this awesome beta, grab a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and it will give you guaranteed access.
