Blood Dragon, the Standalone expansion of Far Cry 3, became an instant hit after its launch last year and due to its success, people were expecting that it will be getting a sequel.
However, Far Cry 4’s creative director, Alex Hutchinson in an interview has given a clear statement that fans will not be getting another title of this sort.
The cool thing about Blood Dragon was that it was a surprise, it was a great use of the Far Cry 3 base, and had an awesome soundtrack.
So the answer is no, you won’t be getting another one of those. Hopefully we can come up with something that surprises you as much as the original Blood Dragon. And if we did make one, I’d probably get told on Twitter ‘are we going to get a Blood Dragon every year? You’re just in a factory churning things out’.
Blood Dragon takes place in fictional 2007, in which you control a cyborg named Sergeant Rex “Power” Colt.
The gameplay is quite similar to Far Cry 3, but the guns, knives and explosives have been made extremely powerful to give a fresh feel to the title.
If you have not played Blood Dragon before, then I suggest you give it a try. The next entry in the franchise, Far Cry 4 is slated for release on November 18 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
