53 percent of the total opening week sales of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare were on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, GfK Chart Track has revealed.
The PlayStation 4 however, was the lead platform with 35 percent of sales and only slightly ahead of the Xbox One which recorded 32 percent. The numbers come as a surprise seeing that the PlayStation 4 has an enormous hardware lead over the Xbox One.
However, given that the Call of Duty franchise has always been a household name for the Xbox platforms, given its developer and publisher relations and the quality service of Xbox Live, it was to be expected.
As for the last-gen consoles, the Xbox 360 version managed to sell 21 percent with the PlayStation 3 managing only 11.
These however, are not the official figures and exact sales have still to be confirmed by Activision. It however, is confirmed that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare managed to outsell Titanfall, Destiny and Wolfenstein: The New Order combined to become the fifth-fastest selling Call of Duty game of all time.
